CareerEdge Sports was established to help professional and elite athletes prepare for, navigate and succeed in careers beyond competitive sport.

We understand that leaving sport is more than a change of employment. For many athletes, it means adapting to a different professional environment, identifying new ambitions and learning how to communicate years of sporting experience to prospective employers.

Our purpose is to make that transition more structured, informed and manageable.

Recruitment expertise meets sporting experience

CareerEdge Sports was founded by Simon O'Neill, a recruitment professional with over 15 years of experience in recruitment and a background in football scouting and operations.

Through his work in recruitment and sport, Simon recognised the importance of helping athletes translate their experience into skills and achievements that employers can understand.

CareerEdge Sports brings these areas together, providing athletes with practical support in career planning, CV development, interview preparation and job searching.

A personal approach to career transition

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every athlete has different experiences, responsibilities and ambitions. Some want to remain within sport, while others wish to pursue opportunities in business, management, education or entirely new industries.
